ECP Celebrates Women in Construction

This week, ECP celebrates Women in ConstructionTM, sponsored by the National Association of Women in Construction. Join us as we honor the women making an impact every day in our industry as well as at our company.

Today we recognize Jill Young.

At ECP, Jill plays a key supporting role to founder, and husband, Jeff Young. As a family business, Jill supports Jeff in many ways but most visibly in lending experience gleaned from over 20 years of legal practice including law firm management, partnerships and practice.

Specifically, Jill assists Jeff in managing the business side of ECP, overseeing various administration, marketing, and finance/accounting. This allows Jeff to focus on what he does best — managing the sales force, customer and vendor relationships, as well as the construction project side of ECP.

About working with her spouse, Jill elaborates, “I can imagine that some people find working with their spouse challenging. I’ve always thought that Jeff and I share complementary skills that benefit our family business and our customers. And we enjoy working toward a common goal together. I am grateful for that and enjoy working with the ECP family as well as the growing number of talented women in the construction industry and those industries that support construction.”

Jill is no stranger to wearing many hats. In addition to her hard hat and legal practice, she also teaches a class in Advanced Trial Advocacy at South Texas College of Law in Houston. Her most significant role, though, is that of mother to her and Jeff’s sons Will, a high school sophomore and Hank a 5th grader.
