Employee Spotlight: Conner Merck-Head of Operations
Conner joined Enterprise Commercial Paving 6 years ago, after graduating from Texas A&M in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science and a minor in Business. He was hired by our owner Jeff and started working in the field as an Assistant Project Manager helping with concrete work, service, striping, asphalt, and learning how to operate machinery. After a year, he moved into a Project Manager role, and at the end of 2018, became Operations Manager.
As Operations Manager, Conner is currently responsible for the day-to-day operations of 5 crews in charge of asphalt, site work, concrete, base work and striping. Each crew has a project manager, superintendent and supervisors over the crew members along with a shop manager, shop foreman, mechanic and their crew.
2019 was one of the best years in ECP history, and Conner is looking forward to continuing that legacy moving into 2021. “The past six years at ECP have been an incredible journey. I am very thankful that the Young’s have provided me the opportunity to grow within their business and grow with the ECP family. As I look back at this year, I attribute all my success as a professional to my team members and those that continue to excel in their duties day in and day out. Our team wouldn’t be such a success without all of their hard work.” says Conner.
Conner is originally from Abilene Texas and lives in Montgomery where he is engaged to his fiancé Chrystal, a native Houstonian. He enjoys hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.
